Kate
Kate has been riding horses since she was seven years old. After years of lessons she bought and trained her first horse at the age of fourteen. She showed this horse, taught riding lessons on him and even took him to college with her! During her young adulthood she was horseless for awhile and then in 2003, when her daughters caught "horse fever", she happily found herself back in the equine world. Since then she has participated in several horsemanship clinics including with Buck Brannaman and Mark Rashid, and is always striving to improve her own riding and teaching skills. Her speciality is working with beginners (children and adults) and helping them understand the unique relationship between horse and human while giving them safe, fun and encouraging riding instruction. When she's not working with kids and farm animals, Kate works as a Life Coach in her own private practice, Pathways Coaching.

| Brian
Brian grew up in a neighborhood that bordered a horse farm, but never rode until he was an adult. He took to it naturally and quickly and has tried a number of different horse activities from fox hunts to trail riding to working cattle at a ranch horse clinic. He is affectionately known as Farmer Brian to the kids who participate in Briar Gate programs and Barn Boy to Kate, as he is her main fix-it and helper guy! He enjoys the morning feeding routine and often helps with beginner lessons and group events. When he's not working around the farm, he can be found at his "real" job as a Staff Scientist for the National Ecological Observatory Network in Boulder.
