| Welcome to Briar Gate Farm! |
Briar Gate Farm is a five acre family farm run by Kate and Brian Johnson. We're located on a quiet, country street overlooking the Rocky Mountain foothills near Hygiene, Colorado. We offer horse and farm-related activities including riding lessons, summer horse camps, horsemanship clinics and more. Our main philosophy working with the horses centers around Natural Horsemanship techniques and focuses on safety, fun and mutual respect. We believe that children and adults gain confidence, self-esteem, responsibility and strength when learning to ride and care for horses and other animals. In return, the animals enjoy physical attention, exercise and social interaction. Further, we believe unstructured time in the outdoors enhances creativity and a sense of well-being.

In addition to our horse programs, we also raise dairy goats and offer several goat-related activities. We occasionally run goat camps and clubs, host a local 4-H goat club, and even offer cheesemaking classes from time to time! Starting in the spring of 2011, we will also be offering goat kids for sale suitable for 4-H projects, showing or as pets. Contact us for more information on any of these programs.
